The 5 keys for spinal pain relief:


We generally feel spinal pain from a combination of 3 things:

  • Too much external force / pressure on a part of our body (eg. Bad posture, spinal curves)...
  • An injury to a part of our body (eg. Spinal misalignment, increased muscle tension, arthritis*)...
  • and what’s called pain sensitization, which means the pain nerves fire quicker and more than normal (which creates a lowered pain threshold)...
…As Chiropractors we try to correct all 3 of these factors, here’s the basics...

The 5 keys:
1. Maintain Good posture: (sitting, standing, etc) & stretch breaks every 20 - 30 minutes…
2. Spinal stretches and exercises: to help correct abnormal spinal curves and muscle tension…
3. General exercise: both aerobic  & strength exercises…
4. Chiropractic care: help correct spinal misalignments (subluxations), abnormal spinal curves, increased muscle tension and more…
5. Time: once these first 4 are improved, time is needed for both ligament and muscle healing and for pain sensitization (peripheral + central) to return to normal…
* you can’t reverse spinal degeneration (arthritis)…
